i hated it straight. i went to their distillery on Nassau. they have a tasting room and they provide a pamphlet instruction to try their rums straight, then add with 1/3 water; then note the differences. the added water made such a huge difference for me, i bought 2 bottles of buena vista (1 for fam, 1 for me).

I'm Canadian and while in Cuba I've only ever bought from LCDH or the Duty Free, but man I've been gifted about 5 boxes of decent RyJ fakes from friends and family over the years. They've been smokeable, sometimes great cigars. The tip off to good Cuban fakes is that the boxes and bands are the real materials smuggled out of the factory but will always be missing a key stamp or label. Just say no to anything passed off as Cohiba or a special edition or anything that you don't know was purchased in Cuba.

The first premium cigar I ever smoked was a Chateau Fuente Queen B. Love AF sooooo much!
